Overview

Joint Chinese University of Hong Kong - New Territories East Cluster Clinical Research Ethics Committee (CREC) (香港中文大學 - 新界東醫院聯網臨床研究倫理聯席委員會) is set up to serve the students / staff members of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and staff members of Hospital Authority (HA) in the NTEC and to protect the rights and safety of the human subjects.

The CREC is an administrative body.  The main duties include :

• approves, reviews and monitors human subject research involving CUHK or NTEC facilities, CUHK or NTEC staffs, or subjects in CUHK or NTEC. It is the responsibility of the CREC to safeguard the rights, safety and well-being of all study subjects and keep all related documents.
• Recruit members, organize training and maintain member records.
• Provide administrative support to review panels.
• Communicate with other REC.
